As you might imagine, maintaining a historic landmark like Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, along with its operations, requires significant resources. While special event rentals help support our work, we rely on donations from individuals and organizations to continue our mission: honoring veterans and educating future generations.

One of our most exclusive programs honoring ordinary people doing extraordinary things is the annual Joseph A. Dugan. Jr., Hall of Valor Induction Ceremony - a unique tribute to Pennsylvania’s most highly decorated service members who have been awarded the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross, Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, or a specific branch medal awarded e.g., Soldiers Medal, etc., for courage and valor.

Your support helps us sustain the Hall of Valor and other vital programs, such as:

• Spotlight On: A monthly social media broadcast reaching more than 3,000 viewers
• The Footlocker Program: Bringing conflict specific historic artifacts into schools and libraries across the state
• The John L. Ford, Sr. African American Heritage Celebration: A free, virtual, annual event focusing on the sacrifices and contributions of African-Americans during the American conflicts
• Civil War and WWII History Summer Camps: Teaching children history through hands-on activities—like baking hardtack!
• Free museum admission for all veterans and their families
• Free admission to select Soldiers & Sailors events like our annual Memorial Day Ceremony & Celebration
• Community exhibits with the National Flag Foundation, The Pittsburgh Penguins, and others

Your recurring donation will help us preserve more than 13,000 artifacts, maintain our historic building, educate the community, and continue to honor and remember those who served.
