Janice Levy’s friend and Vietnam Veteran John L. Wilkinson, Brigadier General USAF (ret.) said this of the collection: “Lawrence Levy’s photographs, set in the China-Burma-India theatre of war, provide insight into a soldier’s world away from the front lines. That they reflect Levy’s highly developed artistic eye makes them an even more amazing achievement. Quiet moments in camps; men and supplies heading to battle; allied and former enemy troops; temples; shops, civilians…everything that goes into a soldier’s – every soldier’s experience of war is here. It is important to see and reflect on them.”
